About this role
After 8+ years, the burnout you feel isn't a personal failure — it's what happens when talented professionals are trapped in systems that don't respect their expertise. These senior roles are built for the clinician who's watched too many of those systems up close.
Elk Grove Unified is California's fifth-largest district — caseload volume is real, but so is the SpEd infrastructure, and our growing Elk Grove pediatric clinic network picks up the kids who age out of district services.
Senior mixed-setting work in Elk Grove is a deliberate design: clinic mornings for complex pediatric, afternoons for school consultation or home-health (if you have the driver profile for it), and a weekly block for mentorship and protocol work. The mix exists because seniors earned the right to design it.
What this role looks like
- Premium benefits: 20+ PTO, 5% 401(k) match, 80-100% employer-paid medical, $2,500-$3,500 CEU budget
- Optional equity pathway discussions after 18 months for clinicians targeting partnership
- CEU development — we'll pay you to build and deliver training internally if that interests you
- Flexibility in schedule design — you set session lengths, intake cadence, site allocation within reason
Who thrives here
If you can already feel when something is wrong in a session before you could articulate why — that's the pattern recognition we want to protect. Your methods shape protocols here, not the other way around.

About Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc.
Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc.
Speech Therapy Consulting, Inc. is a California-based speech-language pathology practice that hires the way we wish someone had hired us. Clinicians get real supervision, fair caseloads, and a leadership team that still sees patients.
We run pediatric clinics, school contracts, and home-health caseloads across Northern California — and we staff them with SLPs who stay because the work is good, not because we trapped them in a non-compete.

Frequently asked questions
How long does the application process take?
Most candidates hear back within three business days of applying. After a 20-minute intro call, we schedule a working conversation with the clinical lead — usually wrapped up inside two weeks from first contact to offer.
Will I hear back if my application isn't a fit?
Yes. Every applicant receives a direct reply — a yes, a no, or a 'not right now, here's why.' We read every application ourselves; no ghosting.
Can I apply to multiple roles?
Absolutely. If more than one posting looks like a fit, apply to whichever resonates most — we review candidates holistically and will surface other openings that match your background during the first call.
