Your CF, Structured for Success

Our Clinical Fellowship program is designed as a clinical training sequence, not an afterthought. Here is what it looks like from week one.

Orientation and Onboarding (Weeks 1–2)

You will be introduced to your assigned school or clinic site, meet your supervising SLP, review caseload expectations, and walk through IEP processes and documentation systems. No trial by fire.

Weekly One-on-One Supervision

Your CF mentor provides a dedicated weekly supervision session to discuss clinical cases, review treatment plans, address challenges, and track your progress toward ASHA certification requirements.

Graduated Caseload Introduction

You will begin with a reduced caseload that increases incrementally over your first 8 weeks. This allows you to build confidence and clinical routines without being overwhelmed from day one.

Direct Observation and Feedback

Your supervisor will conduct periodic direct observations of your therapy sessions and provide structured, actionable feedback. This is a collaborative process, not a performance evaluation.

ASHA Documentation Support

We guide you through all ASHA CF reporting requirements, including the Clinical Fellowship Skills Inventory (CFSI). When your fellowship is complete, you will be prepared and supported through the CCC-SLP application.

Starting Your Career with Confidence

The transition from graduate school to clinical practice is significant. We have structured our program around the concerns new clinicians actually have.

"Will I have enough support?"

Your supervising SLP is available throughout the week, not just during scheduled supervision. You will never be left to figure out a difficult case alone. Our team culture is built on clinical collaboration, and asking for help is expected and encouraged.

"What if my caseload is too large?"

We deliberately limit CF caseloads during your first months and increase them gradually. We believe clinical quality matters more than volume, and your development as a clinician is our priority during this period.

"Will I have to figure out IEPs on my own?"

IEP processes and documentation are covered in your onboarding and reinforced through supervision. Your mentor will walk you through your first IEPs, review your documentation, and be present for your initial meetings until you are comfortable.

"Is this really a direct hire, or will I be contracted out?"

You are employed directly by Speech Therapy Consulting Inc. as a W-2 employee. We are not a staffing agency. You receive the same benefits, pay, and support as every other clinician on our team. Our founder, Stacey, is a practicing SLP who built this practice for clinicians like you.

About Speech Therapy Consulting

Speech Therapy Consulting Inc. was founded by Stacey, a practicing SLP with over 20 years of clinical experience. We are a direct employer serving families across Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo Counties. When you join STC as a CF, you join a team that was built by a clinician who remembers exactly what it was like to start out.

"I started this practice because new SLPs deserve a real mentorship experience—not a placement number on a staffing spreadsheet. Every CF we bring on is someone we are investing in for the long term."

Our school-based placements span Dixon, Vacaville, Fairfield, Davis, West Sacramento, Woodland, and Winters. Our year-round clinic is located at 255 N. Lincoln St. Suite A in Dixon.

The Families We Serve

The families we serve speak for the clinicians who serve them.

"Our son was diagnosed with Autism at the age of 4. The first services we received was speech therapy as he was unable to express himself. We were lucky enough to have been paired with Stacey. Our son has been in speech therapy for almost a year now and has improved so much. He is always excited to go see Mrs. Stacey. We are forever grateful."
— Lopez Family, Dixon, CA
"STC helped me ease my daughter into attending sessions independently instead of needing me to accompany her to every session, which has given her more confidence. My daughter looks forward to her therapy every week. We've experienced other speech therapy service providers and STC is by far our favorite. It feels like a second home."
— Ann & Rose, Vacaville, CA

Frequently Asked Questions

We can begin the conversation and matching process before your graduation date. Your official start date will be coordinated with your program completion and state licensure timeline. Many of our CFs begin the placement process during their final semester.
You will receive weekly one-on-one supervision sessions with your assigned mentor, plus periodic direct observation sessions. The supervision structure meets and exceeds ASHA CF requirements. Your mentor is also available throughout the week for questions and guidance as they arise.
Most CF positions are school-based, working with PreK through high school students across a range of communication needs including articulation, language, fluency, pragmatics, and augmentative communication. Clinic-based positions focus on pediatric outpatient caseloads. We will match your interests and strengths to the right setting.
After completing your Clinical Fellowship and earning your CCC-SLP, you will transition to an experienced SLP role with an increase in compensation. Many of our current team members started as CFs and have grown into leadership roles within the practice.
No. You are hired as a W-2 employee of Speech Therapy Consulting Inc. with full benefits. We are an SLP-owned practice, not a staffing agency. Stacey, our founder, is a practicing SLP with over 20 years of experience who built this practice to offer clinicians a genuinely supportive employment experience.
